Predictive Analytics Meet Up Data Governance

Author: Event Admin

Date of Event: May 1st, 2018
Where:TIG Corporate Office
Time: 6PM

Ethical data collection practices, the growing use of artificial intelligence tools by businesses, and the demands for more analysis are causing data analysts and data scientist to spend an inordinate amount of time in data prep rather than analysis. The need for Data Governance is now! But, what is Data Governance? Who is embarking upon it, how are they implementing it and what benefits are being derived? In this session you will learn about the erwin EDGE (Enterprise Data Governance Experience) platform and how it brings together the key disciplines to specify, plan, execute and deliver a value-driven data governance solution that enables accurate data driven insights in support of agile innovation and business transformation while assuring regulatory compliance. Greg will showcase how we eliminated the data prep work that has been done historically by the data analyst and scientists, using a recent project with a healthcare provider who had limited visibility into their data. In this example we will show how EDGE provided a governance structure for their primary care and business operations to be able to identify, locate, and govern their patient data.

About the Speaker:
Greg LaMonica is Director of the Consulting Services organization at erwin, Inc. Greg leads both the presales and services organizations focused on bridging the overall customer journey from the conceptual to solution delivery focused on the discovery, protection and securing of data.
